Aiken, SC Branch
Welcome to the AAUW Aiken, SC, Branch Website!
Aiken branch held it's first meeting on March 25, 1953 with 20 women in attendance representing 18 different universities. This was definitely a place for AAUW. In less than two years Aiken had grown from 7,000 to 22,000 residents because of the Savannah River Plant. Educated women coming to Aiken were eager to find a place in the community. Today the Aiken branch continues to provide its members with opportunities for personal growth, fellowship, and community service.
